How credits work in plain English
Every generation on Polyfaced costs credits, and the cost is shown upfront in the studio before you press Generate. The credit ledger is built on a FIFO three-state lifecycle: when you submit, we freeze the credits; on a successful generation, we settle them; on a failure, we release them back to your balance. You never pay for output you didn't receive.
The signup grant for the Free plan is 5 credits, granted once when you create your account. The Pro plan tops up your balance with 800 credits on every renewal — credits issued during a Pro billing cycle expire 30 days after that cycle's renewal, but Credit Pack credits never expire while your account is active and are consumed only after monthly credits run out (the FIFO ordering). This means stocking up on a 500-pack is genuinely insurance against running dry, not a "use it or lose it" trap.

Pricing principles we won't break
Failed runs always refund
No model is perfect. When Kling 2.1 hits a content policy edge case, when GPT Image 2 times out, when the upstream provider returns a 5xx — your credits return to balance automatically. We do not charge for output you didn't receive.
Cancel anytime, no annual lock
The Pro plan is month-to-month. Cancel anytime from your dashboard with one click — billing stops at the next renewal, your account stays Pro until then. No annual contracts, no hidden cancellation fees, no "cancel by mailing a notarized letter" tricks.
Pack credits never expire
Credit Pack purchases never expire while your account is active. The FIFO ledger ensures monthly credits are consumed first (so they don't waste on rollover), then Credit Pack credits — meaning stockpiling a 500-pack is a true safety net, not a use-it-or-lose-it gimmick.
Transparent provider routing
Every generation is routed to the official provider — Kuaishou for Kling 2.1, OpenAI for GPT Image 2 — through the Kie infrastructure layer. No reverse-engineered APIs, no substitution to cheaper models without telling you, no opaque "AI" black box. The provider name is shown in the studio next to the model name.
Billing FAQ
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, Union Pay) via Stripe. Some regions also have Apple Pay, Google Pay, and major local wallets enabled in checkout. PayPal is not currently offered — we plan to add it once Pro plan retention stabilizes.
Will I get an invoice for accounting?
Yes — every Pro plan renewal and Credit Pack purchase triggers an automatic invoice email from Stripe with the line-item detail your accountant needs. You can also download invoices anytime from your dashboard billing page.
Do you offer refunds for unused months?
We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months. When you cancel the Pro plan, your account stays Pro until the end of the current billing cycle — you keep all unused monthly credits and the full commercial license until then. Credit Pack purchases are non-refundable once credits are credited to your balance because that balance is immediately spendable.
Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?
Not at v1. Pause is on the roadmap once we see a clear demand pattern from active Pro users. In the meantime, the simplest workaround is to cancel before your next renewal — re-upgrade when you're ready to generate again. Your account, history, and any unused Credit Pack credits stay intact through the gap.
Is there a team plan?
Not at v1. For teams of 2-5, the simplest current setup is for each member to run a Pro plan on their own account — shared workspaces and centralized billing are planned for a future Teams tier. If you have a specific team setup need before that tier lands, email hello@polyfaced.com — we'll see what we can do case-by-case.
Do you offer a startup or student discount?
The Free plan grant + Credit Pack rates are designed to be accessible without a separate discount program — a Free account is enough to evaluate both models, and $4.99 for a 100-pack covers a meaningful test run. We don't currently issue startup or student codes. If your specific situation needs a different arrangement, email us and we'll consider case-by-case.
What happens to my credits if I cancel?
Monthly Pro credits expire at the end of your current billing cycle (the standard rollover policy). Credit Pack credits stay in your balance indefinitely while your account is active — you can switch to Free, stay there for months, and your Pack credits are still spendable on Free plan generations (with Free-plan watermark and personal-use license applying to those outputs).
